Hello everyone,
We apologise for the long delay of this small but new release. Mass translations are not very fun to go through, so we couldn’t do them very fast. That, coupled with having to help run Skies of Croda, really slowed down this release.
But, well its out now. And here it is:
http://teamhgg.org/PapimeruPSPv2.3.zip
And for those who already have the patcher:
http://teamhgg.org/updates/English2.3.zip
In this release, we’ve fixed most of the previous typos and bugs reported. We also have fixed the Hunter’s Log (A special thanks to aegilnet and deimos/kenok for helping us to figure out exactly what it was) and finished the descriptions for Light Bowgun, Heavy Bowgun and Bows.
We’d like to say thank you again, to everyone who has helped us out to improve this patch, by reporting bugs, errors, typos and even giving suggestions. You guys have helped to make this release and further releases the best that they can be.
Once again, support original : )

Amazingly, the game just arrived today in the mail and 2.3 is out! sweet! its my first time patching so i have no clue what to do. I downloaded both 2.3 versions of papimeru and english2.3.zip , where do I put the files and does my monster hunter 2g need to be a particular file name coz right now i just named it Monster2g.iso..will the patcher recognize that? thanks much and wonderful job guys!

“naruga kururga” the spelling of the monster.
July 1st, 2008 at 3:21 pm
many thanks to you team HGG. great job!
July 1st, 2008 at 4:05 pm
You guys are kinda awesome.
I noticed one problem though, When introducing a friend to the Game we noticed the beginners text in the training school like how to climb and use the BBQ etc was still untranslated.
Im sure you guys already know this to be so but im saying It made the game a slight more daunting to new players.
Keep up the great work though ^^
July 1st, 2008 at 4:47 pm
Hurray
July 1st, 2008 at 5:05 pm
I can’t seem to get it to work, i seem to be having the same problem as that riza person had, it says complete but never had a progress bar and did nothing, I dont know how to delete the media install feature of mh2g, so I am lost
July 1st, 2008 at 5:50 pm

July 1st, 2008 at 6:08 pm
Hey.. i download, unzip to psp/game
then i go to Games -> Memory Stick, but i get a “corrupted data” and if i delete that, the language folder in the directory gets deleted.
Am i doing something wrong?
July 1st, 2008 at 6:14 pm
OMG! please don’t worry, cant edit these posts either.. i put them as SEPERATE stuff, not under the PapimeruV2.3 folder >< mah bad
July 1st, 2008 at 6:17 pm
Thnx alot!! btw regarding the hunter’s log..wad’s been fix?
July 1st, 2008 at 9:17 pm
Superb! I wasn’t expecting an update so soon and it is greatly appreciated. Keep up the great work!
July 1st, 2008 at 9:35 pm
I think I found a very small error. (Please forgive the vagueness, I’m a newbie at the game trying to figure things out).
At the end of the very first training session when you go to claim your rewards, it tells you to use X to do so instead of circle.
Nothing major.
Outstanding patch. I think I’ve enjoyed trying to learn the game tenfold because I know that people put some hard work and long hours into it. Thank you.
July 2nd, 2008 at 2:00 am
WOOT!! Ive been waiting so long for this!
Seems like most of the part is done… How much more though…
It seems like the name for True Howling Devil Slicer isn’t shortenned yet…
Still thanks a lot to you guys!!
July 2nd, 2008 at 2:02 am
Hello, it does not say how to to install this patch, can anybody help me with this?
July 2nd, 2008 at 2:03 am
Thanks a bunch TeamHGG.
After eating Crimson Seabream and Fatty Tomato, it changed my Attack power to somewhere in the ~23000s…. but with this patch its back to normal..
Keep it up, and if you guys ever need any help, just shoot an e-mail at me.
July 2nd, 2008 at 4:09 am

Just wanted to say that the patch is good but I notcied a small error. On the Master Jewel there is two periods in the description. On is the JPN period. Also Is that really the direct translation of Chameleos hide? (This hide is so strange to the touchm you’ll want to rub it all over your face.) Seems kinda odd to me.
July 3rd, 2008 at 3:25 pm
I’m assuming this requires our own firmware to run, correct?
July 4th, 2008 at 12:56 am
Hi,

July 4th, 2008 at 3:50 am

July 6th, 2008 at 9:36 am
I found a spelling error when you finish installing the media install. After you finish it, it says “press the O botton.”
July 6th, 2008 at 9:51 am

July 7th, 2008 at 5:10 pm
hey, when i run the patcher, everything is installed but when i play the game, nothing seems to be translated, its all jap words. i need help
July 7th, 2008 at 8:20 pm
Hello,I’ve played all the elder quests without problems with your patch, but I’m experiencing a bug with elder feline quests : when the mission starts,I often find myself in the middle of the map, instead of the starting point, and when I reach the starting point walking,I find the supply crate empty (not even the map)..when this happens, sometimes the big wyverns are bugged too, they don’t spawn or spawn after 20-30 minutes.
You’ve done a very nice work so far,I hope you can also help fix my problem
July 7th, 2008 at 10:12 pm
Thanks for the patch!!!
It’s not 100% though, I still dunno all the item and equips descriptions, and what the cat chief is saying BUT!!! GOOD JOB! I’ll be waiting for the next update!!!
July 8th, 2008 at 11:34 am
For people who don’t know how to patch heres a list of what to do and stop asking:
1.Make sure u have custom firmware
2.Make sure file is ISO not CSO and in the memory stick…convert ISO later if u want to
3.Put patch in game folder while having the game is ISO folder
4.Run the patch on the PSP
5.Have the original game:p
July 8th, 2008 at 1:53 pm
Thanks Guys! You’ve all done a great Job and I really appreciate your efforts.
Making the game so much easier to understand and play. God Bless
July 9th, 2008 at 7:15 am
Do you have to have custom firmware to run this? If so where can I download the custom firmware needed?
July 9th, 2008 at 7:59 am
OH yeah, found another bug…
You know the Longsword you upgrade after snow blossom, which is like “mad snow blossom”, well, the blossom is spelt blosson instead of an M…
July 9th, 2008 at 8:10 am
Which firmware are most of you using? Will it work with a PSP 2000? Be nice and help a fellow monster hunter fan out!
July 9th, 2008 at 8:31 pm
hey will i be able to trasfer my items for mhf2(eng) to mhg2 once i’ve had it patched?
July 10th, 2008 at 3:16 am
Is there any update as to when a fix can be done so that media install will not drop during gameplay? It seems that with newer and newer patches, the media install becomes more and more unstable.
July 10th, 2008 at 4:25 am
Does this support asia version
July 10th, 2008 at 8:16 am
is asia version supported
July 10th, 2008 at 8:17 am
if it is please email me the answer at aaronmann@tmail.com
July 11th, 2008 at 6:07 am
You guys should really state in the instructions that Custom Firmware is required.
July 11th, 2008 at 11:21 am
To benjiedude:
Yes, you need custom firmware. You need a pandora battery to do it. No it is not as simple as downloading it, nowhere near as simple. Yet for any form of homebrew development or any product of homebrew development it is necessary. Go google search for instructions on how to use a pandora battery to downgrade your PSP then update to custom firmware, also you need to follow the instructions VERY carefully before you start.
July 12th, 2008 at 2:39 am
hey does anyone know how to put this in ur psp? thanks a lot
July 12th, 2008 at 8:00 pm
5 star guild hall chamaelos hunting quest there are quite a few errors and random characters in the description.
also, is the kut-ku’s scale/shell (i cant remember which) description really meant to be the fire resistant scale/shell of a kut-ku. Quite resistant to fire.
you can use a psp-2000, and im using 4.01 m33
ba55-ninja-x you must be using an iso to use the patch
July 13th, 2008 at 2:16 pm
I think i found a bug or a mistranslation. It’s a lobster hammer mistranslated as royal cat stamp.
July 14th, 2008 at 12:53 am
anyone there can give me the link how to patching to the iso file???
July 15th, 2008 at 5:46 am
Any plans on them creating a patch that does NOT require custom firmware? I just ordered 2 copies of MHP2G and have no idea if I can do this myself. Sounds very complicated…
July 16th, 2008 at 3:10 am
it is impossible to patch a game without cfw. seeing as the patcher is unsigned (and can never be signed), it wont run on a non-cfw psp. also, to start up the iso, you also must have cfw, and you cannot patch a disc
July 16th, 2008 at 6:59 am
actually, there is a partial translation for ofw, but i dont know anything about it
July 16th, 2008 at 10:40 am
It is impossible to load an ISO without a custom firmware. And you cannot patch a disc, so its custom firmware or bust. Just make sure you have a spare battery.
July 16th, 2008 at 2:08 pm
I tried to run the installer and it showed searching… after awhile it turns the set off with a loud “popâ€â€¦ scared the shit out of me… thought it was bricked… is there any naming convention for the monster hunter 2 iso?
July 17th, 2008 at 3:46 am
thanks for the patch u guys rox
u guys has some day to lunch the next batch ? a possible 2.5 ?
July 17th, 2008 at 3:54 pm
Ya, I agree with benjiedude. Hope creating the patch does not need custom firmware and exactly how to convert und to iso? I m really helpless here
July 18th, 2008 at 5:43 pm
You guys are _FUCKING AWESOME_.
July 19th, 2008 at 3:05 am
Hi,
I had a quick question. Currently, when I try to view the Monster List under Reference in options, it only gives me the text, “Cannot be sold†Is this happening because of the patch? The other section that I noticed is that on the guild card, instead of monster names, it only lists them as ????… Is this also as a result of patching to English? Thank you for all of your hard work, keep it up!
MH Fan,
Lester

July 23rd, 2008 at 2:08 am
I bought the original game, and modded so i can run the file, but I don’t seem to be able to get it to work. Do you have to rip the game to memstick for it to work? Thank you for your (what i assume to be good
work
July 23rd, 2008 at 3:35 am
is there anyway to translate another game? i have a copy of coded arms contagion but its in spanish =.= should have checked before buying..
July 23rd, 2008 at 9:47 pm
I’m not sure if this is the patch or just my iso, but whenever I try to make a new game, it locks up just before loading the customization screen.
August 6th, 2008 at 12:54 am
^ I think that’s either a problem with your cfw or iso, as far as I know the patch only changed the language.
Anyway, thanks team HGG, keep up the good work you guys, you rule! Wonder what’s going to be included in the upcoming patches? more weapon descriptions? conversations translated? Quest details/descriptions translated? Who know’s!? Either way they’re all brilliant extras!
August 13th, 2008 at 5:49 pm
how to convert monster hunter 2 data to 2g? mine cannot leh?
